Great Spa Massages and Pampering in Las Vegas

One of the remarkable aspects of any trip to Las Vegas is the incredible indulgence and pampering priority involved. Regardless of where you’re at or what you might be doing, there is a definite priority on care, comfort and above all else, enjoyment. And this can come in a variety of ways, such as the incredible food that is found in abundance at the city’s greatest buffets, or the constant flow of refreshing cocktails in the gambling areas. In addition a Las Vegas spa treatment is one of the best ways to begin your morning or take a rejuvenating break in the afternoon.

There are numerous ways and opportunities to pamper yourself while you’re in Vegas, and almost every service position is intended to support and contribute to this aspect of your experience. Meanwhile, there is nothing greater than laying face down on a massage table while receiving the expert touch of a therapeutic practitioner. The types of massages that are available are almost as extensive as the preferences and physical needs of the receiver. You can request a trigger point massage to make sure you relieve those high pressure zones that can act up when the intensity of a full house hits the felt poker table but you have four kings in your hand. Other great massages include the standard favorite deep tissue massage, as well as cranial sacral, prenatal, Swedish or hot stone treatments . And these are a few of the options among a great many others.

The Locks of Puget Sound

Planning a visit to Seattle, put the Historic Hiram M. Chittenden Locks on your list of ‘things to do’. The Locks are a complex series of waterway locks that are situated in the middle of Salmon Bay, and they make it possible for ship passage from Lake Washington Ship Canal to Puget Sound. The locks and other facilities serve three purposes: to maintain the water level of fresh water from Lake Washington and Lake Union at 22 feet above sea level; to prevent the sea water to mix with the fresh waters of Puget Sound; and to move boats from the water level of the lakes to the water level of Puget Sound and visa versa.

The locks were built in 1911 and are operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The complex consists of 2 locks, a small – 30 x 150 foot lock and a large – 80 x 825 foot lock, including a 235 foot spillway with 6 – 32 x 12 foot gates that assist in keeping the water level control. The fish ladder integrates with the locks in order that the migration of salmon is not hindered. The ladder is a 21-step water ladder allowing fish to swim upstream or downstream on a gradual incline and bypasses the locks. You won’t want to miss seeing the steelhead salmon return to spawn in June, so make your reservations now at any of the hotels in Seattle , you’ll be especially pleased with the underwater viewing gallery that will give you a great view of the fish underwater .

Back in April, for Earth Day, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers began planting 40 poplar trees along the Fremont Cut of Lake Washington Ship Canal. The planting process will not cause any restrictions, and there are free guided tours, or just stroll around the winding walkways and enjoy the gardens around the visitor center. In addition to walking around the Locks and the gardens around, you might consider taking a 2 1/2 hour Locks cruise. The cruise will take you through the Hiram Chittenden Locks as you listen to a live narration of Seattle’s history, but you won’t be able to get off the cruise boat to see the garden or the fish ladder.

Hong Kong Parks

There is nothing more needed after a long flight than a walk barefoot in the grass. Let your body relax back on the ground with fresh air and birds chirping in the distance. While you are in Hong Kong it is important to get out of the hotel for some time in on the water or in the parks. There are plenty of parks to visit. The whole island is a park really. Victoria Peak is a great park on the hill and there is a beautiful ride up the mountain in a
tram to reach and leaves you in a sort of destination park. You will find a mini zoo with lots of smaller animals and birds around as well as a hiking/running track. There are lots of places to bring your lunch and let the kids run and play. There are also fun activities planned like festivals during certain times of the year.

Hong Kong Park is right in the middle of the city and offers wonderful areas to relax and let your family roam. It is a great place to see some of the many birds in the trees and the fish in the lakes and ponds. There are some old British Barracks like the Victoria Barracks as well as the home of the Commander of the British armed forces from way back. The home is now also a museum called the Flagstaff Tea Museum were you can go and see the history of tea and tea ware that is unique to China like the Yixing teapot. Knowing a little more about the tea in China will make you feel like you are in the club of worldly tea drinkers.

Then there is, of course, a day at the Hong Kong Zoological and Botanical Gardens which is always a treat when you are visiting a country that is very different from your own. This is quite the walk through some interesting history of the Chinese culture and the many visitors that came and went for hundreds of years.

A Fish Market in Little Havana Miami

In Los Angeles, one of my favorite restaurants is Versailles, which offers quality Cuban food –  terrific garlic chicken, plantains, black beans and rice.  If I were in Miami, though, I know I’d have to find some of the most authentic Cuban food possible in the United States by taking a trip to Little Havana.  There you’ll find a landmark shopping plaza called La Camaronera Fish Market.  You’ll be served the freshest seafood on the face of the planet, although be forewarned.  This is not a fine dining experience.  There’s just a counter, not even chairs.

To order, all you need do is point at the food on display and, in moments it seems, it’s on your plate.  Add lemons, some tarter sauce, maybe a little cocktail sauce, and you’re ready to go to have one of the best fish dining experiences you’ve ever had.  There’s also homemade hot sauce for those with hearty stomachs.  You can get any fresher fish than if you caught it yourself and prepared it at the dock.  There’s fish soup, seafood and rice.  You certainly won’t find another place that has such fresh Florida salt water lobster. There’s a dish, too, known as Pan con Minuta.  This is a de-boned fish, headless, in an egg/flour batter mix, that’s deep fried, then topped off with some diced onions and a bit of tarter sauce.  Amazing stuff.  Try the breaded lobster chunks here, too.

Miami locals have been coming to this spot in Little Havana Miami for decades, ever since 1974, but it’s been a seafood market almost a decade longer.  If you want a complete Miami vacation, check out a nice place to stay, and then head for some of the best and certainly freshest fish you’ve ever tried.  The other attractions — from the Miami Science Museum, to the Venetian Pools, to the Coral Castle– will all wait!

Hot tub house sitting

I just love it when my friend is out of town and asks me to house sit! The place is really nice and comfortable but the best part is that there is a hot tub there. I really love soaking in a hot tub and feel so relaxed after wards I can not believe I have not put one in at my house. They have done a beautiful job with this one, it is set into the landscape beautifully and looks like it has always been a part of the property. I think they have had it for only about 8 months now. The combination of plantings around the base of bushes and vining plants with a generous sprinkling of potted plants all around the hot tub blends in so well that even as big as it is it is not the first thing you notice in the back yard. I like that it does not stick out like a sore thumb and break up the continuity of their landscaping.

The beneficial use hot tubs and spas are another reason to get one. It is so relaxing like I said, I definitely sleep much better after unwinding and relaxing in the spa. The rushing water bubbling by, the jets messaging my muscles what could be better. The action of the hot water and jets loosen up my tense muscles and relieve the stiffness in my neck and shoulder. There is definitely a difference int eh days i take advantage of a hot tub soaking and the days I do not.

There are so many sises and styles to choose from I really do not have much of an excuse to not get one installed. From portable to permanent from small to large and extra large there is something for everyone

How did I get along with out a Hot Tub!

There is nothing like coming home and soaking in my nice warm relaxing hot tub at the end of a hard days work. Most of my days are spent in hard labor so to speak. I work in a foundry and forge wrought iron. Lifting shovels full of coal into the furnace, pumping the bellows, lifting the iron rods, heating them till glowing red and then hammering them into shape is hard physical work! It is something I really enjoy the roar of the furnace the blasts of hot air and the final product produce. There is a lot of pride n making something that requires this much skill and effort. However the result is daily physical exhaustion, sore and worn out muscles, aches and tension.

I am not sure how I did this so long with out the use of a hot tub at the end of my day. The release of the tension and ache is much welcomed when the end of the day comes. The deep relaxation I experience is has resulted in me getting a much better nights sleep than I had in a very very long time. I love the feel of the warm water bubbling from the jets on my shoulders, neck, arms, lower back and legs. On evening I don;t take advantage of the hot tub I usually wake up stiff and ache. No matter my level of tiredness I really should take advantage daily, however some days it is all I  can imagine to clean up eat and sleep.

Ultimately I would recommend that soaking in a hot tub for anyone at all weather their work is heavy and physical or not. Tension from office stress would be greatly reduced by use of a hot tub,  like I said I don’t know how I got along without it!

Hot Tubs, Spas, and Deep Breathing

With your own spa, your house becomes a refuge, a place to leisurely unwind at the end of a busy day.  Just knowing that there’s a sure-fire stress reliever in your own yard can make life a little easier.  People who own their own hot tubs, spas, and jacuzzis know that it’s a wonderful thing to be able to entertain at the drop of a hat.  When your friends are talking about getting together for dinner and fun, your house is the perfect place for a party.  Hot tubs are also extremely therapeutic, and have beneficial effects on physical as well as emotional health.

The freedom allowed by the feeling of having your own spa is only matched by the benefits to your health, in fact.  There are studies that show that a hot tub can be very good for the heart, improve the circulatory system, and also help enormously in insomnia if used regularly.  There are also benefits to breathing.  Hot, humid water can help to loosen up the throat and chest, making it possible to draw a deep breath.  Deep breathing is one of the most elemental things we can do for our health, one of the simplest things, and it’s often one of the things we rarely remember to do.

Having a spa in your home, where you can relax alone or with friends, is a fantastic way to remember to breathe.  There are also other benefits to having a spa, which are directly related to breathing.  A hot tub can be wonderfully healing for abdominal pain, as well as other aches to joints and muscles.  The buoyancy takes the pressure off the body to hold the organs and muscles in place, and it’s easy to relax.  This kind of relaxation is naturally accompanied by deep breathing, and the benefits to deep breathing are numerous, and positively wonderful.  There are many therapies, such as Yoga, which are built around the idea of the breath, and when your spa is your connection, there is a source for health and healing right in your home.

Budapest Baths, Hot Tubs and Spas in Eastern Europe

The last time you relaxed in your spa almost always feels like the first time.  It’s a splendid sensation that never gets old, where the worries of the day melt off when the hot jets start to do their magic on your skin.  Having a spa is the kind of luxury that you’ll never cease to appreciate, because it does create a certain wonderful change in your lifestyle.  Hot tubs and spas can do wonders not only for your social life, but for your physical health as well. The positive effects of a spa are well-known, but perhaps not so well-known is their prominence in cultures all over the world.

Wherever there is a prominence of hot springs, there is an interest in the therapeutic effects of water, and the technologies in creating the contemporary portable spa come from these natural sources.  The thought of harnessing the healing attributes of water in your own home is enormously welcome, and it’s also very possible.  One of the best spots in the world for exploring the effects of natural hot springs on the local population is in Budapest, Hungary.  It’s one of the greatest reservoirs for these healing waters in the world, and there is a long tradition of public bathing here.

There are some places where the natural springs are left much as they were centuries ago, but it’s more likely to find some cosmetic changes.  Some places, such as the Szechenyi Baths, have become incredibly ornate gathering places, where you can join in the ritual with large groups for a modest fee.  But they all speak of the wonderful possibilities of your own spa in your own home, where the experience of incredible relaxation can be taken in by yourself, or with large groups.  It’s entirely up to you, and how you decide to use your imagination, now that this other world is at your disposal.
