The Appeal of a NYC Address
The notion of making it in New York City has been around for generations. The Big Apple is considered to be the greatest city in the US, if not the world, because it is at the pinnacle of so many different industries. In addition to all the actors, musicians and entertainers who consider conquering NYC to be the ultimate proof of their success, many businesses also subscribe to the idea that having prime office space NYC is the stamp of approval for their company.
With few exceptions New York is the center of many industries. A company that wants to be taken seriously in their field needs to be where the movers and shakers are. For those in finance, insurance, fashion, the arts, communication, film, advertising and marketing, and countless other industries, that means New York.
There’s also a certain cachet that comes from having the company headquarters located in New York. The high cost of doing business there is a result of the scarcity of real estate as well as the salaries demanded by employees who are forced to live in one of the more expensive cities in the world. A company that can afford to maintain an office in New York is usually a business that is making a lot of money, even if most of that money is going to support their infrastructure. It’s no wonder that more and more companies are setting up virtual offices in New York. This allows them to have the prestige of a Manhattan address without having to pay the costs of maintaining an actual office.
